The Sun Valley Film Festival is held to raise awareness of the work of UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund. UNFPA works to deliver a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe and every young person's potential is fulfilled. It is the lead United Nations agency that expands the possibilities for women and young people to lead healthy lives in over 150 countries where the Fund operates.

Tickets are $15 each and $60 for all five films. Tickets may be purchased in advance from Chapter One Bookstore and Iconoclast Books, or at the box office on screening days.

A free public lecture by Kate Gilmore, Deputy Executive Director of UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, on "Women and War" will be held at The Community Library on Thursday, February 28 at 6:00 PM. This event is free and open to the public. Five films will be shown at the Sun Valley Opera House. Dr. Babatunde Osotimehin, the Executive Director of UNFPA and Under Secretary-General of the United Nations, will make a special appearance at the Festival.

“Women and War”:  a free public lecture presented by Kate Gilmore, Deputy Executive Director of UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, immediately followed by an invitation-only reception for Sponsors and Founders’ Circle Members  with filmmakers and speakers. will be in attendance.

Friday, March 1 at 6:00 PM - The Sun Valley Opera House

Special appearance by Dr. Babatunde Osotimehin, Executive Director, UNFPA and Under-Secretary General of the United Nations.

The Invisible War – Feature-length documentary (USA) presented by filmmaker Amy Zeiring. An invitation-only reception will follow immediately for Sponsors and guests of Higher Ground with filmmakers and speakers.

Saturday, March 2 at 3:00 PM - The Sun Valley Opera House

Weapon of War – Feature-length documentary (Democratic Republic of Congo), followed by question and answer with Kate Gilmore, Deputy Executive Director of UNFPA.

The World Before Her – Feature-length documentary (India), presented by filmmaker Nishua Pahuja.

War Witch – Premiere of Feature-Length Drama (Canada/Democratic Republic of Congo), presented by filmmaker Kim Nguyen.
